These fish are typical on any given day on the lower Sacramento River. Some of these photos are from the Pit River, the upper Sacramento and Hat Creek. Different places fish better at different times.

Evening Float

10/7..... The fishing was pretty good and the weather was perfect. We spotted a family of river otters by the 'Aqua Golf' area; we watched them for a bit as they watched us. We managed to release 5 nice fat fish while nymphing and as we were pulled over releasing a fish and retying we started to hear a few splashes and splooshes and bam we were in the middle of a full fledged caddis hatch.  It took us a few minutes to rig the spare rod but we got casting in time to land two nice fish. Then we raced the sunset to the Bonnyview ramp.
