These fish are typical on any given day on the lower Sacramento River. Some of these photos are from the Pit River, the upper Sacramento and Hat Creek. Different places fish better at different times.

Lefty and Kavin

April 21st..... Another father/son team. The conditions were great and we hooked quite a few really nice fish. Lefty (Dad) and Kavin had a great day and there enthusiasm was contagious.

We lost the first few hook ups and Lefty had a a big one on that we fought for quite a awhile until the big rainbow finally got away..... the old story that the big one got away.

Kavin also lost a few but did land this beauty shown below...

Dave and Cameron

April 13th..... The spring fishing continues to be good to great and the bigs ones keep biting. It take a splash of luck to get the the big ones in the net. They fight long and hard test your skill as well as your tackle.

Dave did well but the big ones seemed to elude him although he did land several smaller fish. Even the small 15 inchers put up quite a fight.

Cameron, on the other hand had just enough luck and the quick reflexes to get this bad boy into the net.

Justin and Richard

Apr. 4th.... Great conditions and terrific fishing Justin has fished with me before but this time he brought Richard (his father) along for some father-son fly fishing. We hooked numerous smaller fish but these twl beauties stood out..... Justin's fat 21 inch buck was particularly fat and fought really hard. Dad's fish was very colorful and was taken after a few misses....LOL

Anyway, it was a fun day with these two sportsmen with the fish biting!

Darren and Brian (father and son)

Mar 27th....... It was a cloudy cool day and the fish were on the bite. Both father and son did very well and we released some really nice 18 inch plus wild rainbows!

Brian had never fly fished but Dad was pretty good and he was truly rewarded. Its always fun to fish with father/son teams. There is nothing like watching Dad's face light up when the son catches a nice one. Darren was no different; when Brian reeled in this 18 inch beauty Darren was beeming.

Art and Mike fish alot and with their experience they did pretty well. Mike seemed to have the 'hot hand' and landed a few extra's.
