These fish are typical on any given day on the lower Sacramento River. Some of these photos are from the Pit River, the upper Sacramento and Hat Creek. Different places fish better at different times.

Kool April Nights?

4/20..... More like hot April days. Bryan returning for his second trip this spring brought his good friend Lex and it was the hottest day of year to date (about 90). But these guys are good fisherman and we had the right bugs and fooled 11 really nice solid bow's from 16 to 20 inches. A few fish just ran right to the boat and it was hard to keep up and the phrase "He stuffed ya Dude" was coined. We surely missed at least as many as we released. At lunch we hand fed a pair of Canada geese and their goslings that couldn't have been more than a few days old; talk about cute.

The fish were beautifully colored and thick full bodied fish. During the early part of the day all the fish we taking the 'Curt's Nest' as there was a mixture of caddis and mayflies on the water. Later on the mayflies seemed to dominate and an ligt colored #14 PMD imitation was the ticket. We floated from the Posse grounds down to Bonnyview during the day and fished up with a trip from the 'Aqua Golf' ramp down to Bonnyview. We fished a full day and had a great time.
